Rainfall and Flood Data

The map below displays recent rainfall events within the city. Rainfall data is currently sourced from the Telangana State Development and Planning Society (TGDPS) and recorded at Automatic Weather Station (AWS) locations. The point size is proportional to recorded rainfall.

In addition to rainfall, the platform provides layers for watershed boundaries, natural drainage networks, and elevation data. These layers, combined with historical maps of Hyderabad, enable citizens to explore how water flows and drains across the city.

A key challenge is the lack of specific data on flood levels and locations. We are launching an initiative to collect flood information from volunteers in their respective localities.

We invite all interested individuals to register. Verified participants will be invited to an orientation session on recording and reporting flood data.
