Rainfall and Flood Data for Hyderabad

The map below displays recent rainfall events within the city. Rainfall data is currently sourced from the Telangana State Development and Planning Society (TGDPS) and recorded at Automatic Weather Station (AWS) locations. This information is classified and visualized for a select number of major events. The point size is proportional to recorded rainfall.

In addition to rainfall, the platform provides layers for watershed boundaries, natural drainage networks, and elevation data. These layers, combined with historical maps of Hyderabad, enable citizens to explore how water flows and drains across the city.

A key challenge is the lack of specific data on flood levels and flood locations. To address this, we are launching a new initiative to collect flood information from volunteers in their respective localities.

We invite all interested individuals to register and express their interest in this project. Once registered, verified participants will be invited to an orientation session where we will provide detailed guidance on how to record and report flood data.
